Hi! We made it through to the end of March, and I am so ready for spring and Aries energy to take us to a new collective headspace.
This past month I’ve been working behind the scenes on exhibition prep, grant applications, and of course making daily images of life at home here in Montreal.
Here I am signing all my new archival prints at Atelier Photosynthèse - ready to be delivered to the framer!
I am so excited to invite you to my upcoming solo exhibition of PUBERTY at Galerie COA in Montreal!
The opening night will be Thursday April 7 between 5-9 pm - I can’t wait to see you there ♥ open to all!
The Gallery is located at 6405 Boulevard St-Laurent (near corner of Beaubien) - the space is on the ground floor and fully accessible.
After opening night, the exhibition will be on view until May 7 during gallery hours :
Tuesday - Friday | 10 AM - 5 PM
Saturday | 12 - 5 PM
And more good news! My Montreal Kickstarter books will be ready to be picked up the following week ♥
For the occasion, I’ll be having a book pick-up + signing event at the gallery on Saturday April 16 from 12-5 pm - I can’t wait for you all to finally get your copies of the book!
For those of you who can’t make it on that Saturday, you will be able to pick up your copy of the book during gallery hours for the remainder of the exhibition afterward.
For folks who ordered the book to be shipped - both via kickstarter & through Yoffy: the books have arrived to the US warehouse and will be on their way to you soon!
You can still order your copy via Yoffy Press if you haven’t yet (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
A series of images from my project Huldfufólk was published in issue 22 of Dinette Magazine - a really stunning local mag!
Puberty was featured in Elle Italia, article written by Simona Marani
// & on Buzzfeed Photo, interviewed by Pia Peterson
I had the pleasure to be photographed by Marie Ouardiya in my home - I always love seeing how other artists interpret my space!
Check out her work on instagram @ouardiyaa
I made posters of my latest image Rococo Hair, created in collaboration with Jess Cohen.
The posters are available in my print store and ready to ship!
I also made a special coupon code to help cover Vashti’s health bills, as she has been living with bronchitis this past month and needs all the meds and love to get back to full health! (✿ ♥‿♥)
Use code QUEENVASHTI for 11% off all orders in my print store throughout the month of April ~
The trend of the month is: taking care of your inner child + playful energy ~
The Polly Pocket of the month is the 1994 treehouse - perfect for spring!
This month I also found a mint in box copy of the first camera I ever had as a child in the 1990s. I have so many vivid memories of using that camera and the feeling of capturing a memory on film - grateful for this object that paved the way for my work today.
